This was a great detailed book that really brings you up close and personal with some of the spookiest lighthouses I have heard of. I have traveled to many lighthouses around the great lakes so I love reading stories about them and this book really allowed me to see the lighthouses from a whole new perspective. The book was well researched and documented. Each of the lighthouses were examined in depth and you leave with a much better understanding of the myriad of paranormal activity that has occurred within the examined locations which was so much fun. All-in-all this was a great book that any lighthouse or ghost enthusiast will love!

…then comes the good stuff; the ghost stories. Each lighthouse has a different and unique tale (actual ghost sightings, people feeling a ghostly presence holding them down, hearing footsteps and other noises and even a ghost who helped fix the lighthouse in an emergency). The book is definitely a brief overview and not an in-depth historical analysis…However, I think it is a great handbook or travel guide to anyone interested in either ghosts and paranormal sightings or lighthouses in general. It is a concise and practical guide and a well written quick read. I would recommend this book to history buffs, paranormal enthusiasts and lighthouse lovers everywhere.

SPOOKIEST LIGHTHOUSES combines a few of my loves… history, lighthouses and the possibility of the human spirit being earthbound after death!
Black and white photos, blurbs of current info such as visiting hours and costs, and the most intriguing part- historical snippets of the lighthouses, their keepers, and spooky occurences. My only gee whiz is that this slim volume is just that… slim. I wanted MORE!
