Fun For All Ages: Haunted Train Ride

Ghost Train Characters

The annual Ghost Train Halloween Festival at Tweetsie Railroad takes place on October 5-6, 12-13, 19,20, and 26-27. Gates open at 7.30pm nightly. It has been operating since 1990 and becomes more popular each year.

The following stats were taken from Tweetsie’s website:

  • Honors Named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society
  • Time it takes to prepare for the chills and thrills 6 months
  • Number of employees required to frighten guests 200
  • Number of haunting trips made by the Ghost Train nightly 5 to 10
  • How long the Ghost Train trip takes 15 to 20 minutes
  • Number of rooms in the haunted house 13
  • Special Halloween delicacies served at the festival Candied apples, hot cider, creepy candies and cookies

In addition to this spooktacular train ride, Tweetsie has fun rides (including three new ones and a kidz zone), food, and a general store. Tweetsie is located between Boone and Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Exact directions and other information can be found on their website, www.tweetsie.com
