Maybe that should be the name of E.L. James next book since more than 10 million copies have sold and it is in its 16th printing since February!
Have you heard about this book? Fifty Shades of Grey has been dubbed “mommy porn” and is so controversial as to have been banned in some Georgia and Florida libraries. A quick check revealed that my local library has 234 people on the wait list for a copy. Would you even bother if you saw that more than 200 people were already on the wait list? Just buy it if you want it or are you afraid to be seen at the checkout with book in hand? I’ve read that most copies are sold online because of the shame factor. I’ve also learned that some women are buying Kindles so they can download the book without detection.
I did some research to find out what all the fuss was about and as soon as I read some sample passages, I knew why all these women were afraid of being seen buying or reading the book:
“I close my eyes, feeling the build-up…pushing me higher, higher to the castle in the air.”
“My inner goddess is doing the merengue with some salsa moves.”
“Anticipation hangs heavy over my head like a dark, tropical storm cloud.”
Enough said…
