Super Cheap Luminaries
Save gallon milk jugs until you have what you need (10-12 creates nice effect). Wash and air dry jugs. Use a black marker to draw different faces on them. Leave the caps on while drawing and the jugs won’t change shape (dent). Use a craft knife to cut small holes the size of silver dollars in the back of each jug. Use Christmas tree lights or buy Halloween color lights (50 watt or less). Make sure it’s a long strand so that you have enough lights to cover all the jugs. Place jugs where you want them and use extension cord to run up to the house/porch outlet.
Bonus Tip: You can use glow sticks and not even fool with extension cord and stuffing lights into jugs and stringing lights from jug to jug. Cool effect too! You can use different colors to create different effects. They’re about forty cents each at www.coolglow.com.
