More on the World’s Largest Yardsale

Filed Under: Terrance Talks Travel Tagged With: American Travel, Festivals

Okay, I told you all about the World’s Largest Yardsale a few weeks ago. It extends across FIVE states and covers more than 690 miles and includes THOUSANDS of vendors. Alabama alone boasts more than 1,000 vendors! For more on that see the 6/27 post in my blog archive or visit www.127sale.com. But I promised another post letting you know about all kinds of other stuff going on in addition to the yardsale. Here are five things you should do if you go…

treehouse

***Tour the World’s Largest Treehouse. It was built in the 1990s by minister Horace Burgess. It took eleven years to complete. It is one of the most visited attractions in the state (open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.). 245 Beehive Lane, Crossville, TN 38555.

***Stop at one of the many fruits, vegetables, and specialty stands along the route.

***Go to a wine tasting. Chestnut Hill Winery is the largest in Tennessee and offers a big gift shop full of all things Tennessee (in case you haven’t done enough shopping at the yardsale). 78 Chestnut Hill Road, Crossville, TN 38555.

***Visit Little River Canyon National Preserve (Alabama). It offers excellent fly fishing, hiking, camping, whitewater rafting (Class III & IV rapids) and more.

***Attend a huge Classic and Hot Rods Car Show and Music Jamboree. It will be held on August 3 in Jamestown, TN.
