Over the holidays, I finally made it to the PIRATE VOYAGE show in Myrtle Beach, SC. I can now wholeheartedly endorse this attraction. For those of you who are not aware, the show took over the Dixie Stampede theater. It is owned by Dolly Parton, who composed original music scores for the performance. She even makes a cameo via a large screen. The food was not great, but was satisfying. More importantly, the entertainment was well worth the price of admission. The audience faces a lagoon where lots of action takes place, including a pirate battle with duels and fire, live animals, and acrobatic competition. Before the main event, there is a warm-up show and a chance to enjoy a pirate’s favorite libation (rum!) and light refreshments in the bar area.
