Wild Eagle Ride at Dollywood

If you’re looking for family fun close to home this summer look no farther than Sevierville, TN, which is just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Here are five reasons why you should go:

1. Smoky Mountains zip-line adventure offers fun for the whole family. No experience is necessary and it is safe and fun for any child six or older. www.adventurezipliningofsevierville.com

2. Take a walk on the wild side on America’s longest swinging bridge. The Bridge to Prosperity stretches 353 feet across Foxfire Gorge. The adventure includes a journey through the Magical Forest, which includes Lost Mine Falls and historic Sweden Furnace Iron Mine. http://www.foxfiremountain.com/adventure/mountaineering-exploring-adventure/

3. Enjoy a scenic helicopter ride over the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. During the ride you’ll delight in sights such as Cades Cove, Mt LeConte, Clingman’s Dome and The Chimneys. http://scenichelicoptertours.com/

4. Calling all teenagers and their moms: There are lots of shops in nearby Gatlinburg, as well as a huge, high-end outlet mall, Tanger Outlets Sevierville, and there is Smoky Mountain Knife Works (for dads and granddads). There are lots of area attractions in addition to shops.

5. Dollywood has been voted one of the best theme parks in America. It offers hundreds of shows, rides, shops, crafts, and food options. You may also wish to buy a pass to nearby Dollywood Splash Country water park. Additionally, there is a resort and cabin rentals available. www.dollywood.com

FYI: The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited park in America. More than 10 million visitors flock to this scenic place every year. It’s a great place for families because there is so much to see and do in Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and within the park. For more information, visit www.VisitSevierville.com.
