getting startedDON’T GET DERAILED!!!

My co-host, Sara Whitford, and I had a lively discussion about this topic during Season One of our podcast, A Writer’s Journey: From Blank Page To Published. What writer hasn’t dealt with distractions? I have even created distractions when I didn’t want to write. I once reorganized every cabinet in my kitchen to avoid it! During this episode we share tools writers can use to keep from getting derailed by distractions.

***If you have a suggestion for dealing with distractions, I would love to hear it, so please reply to this post.

Here are some links we discussed:

www.writeordie.com (controls range from gentle to kamikaze!)

www.selfcontrolapp.com (for Mac only)

So I hope you will take a few minutes to listen and learn how to deal…or you can subscribe to A Writer’s Journey: From Blank Page To Published on iTunes and listen anywhere, anytime:

ASSIGNMENT–Month #5 (May): Deal with distractions. Figure out what is getting in your way and then fix it! Maybe you’re trying to write at a time that won’t work because your kids are home from school or maybe you’re not allowing enough time to make any real headway. Take a few minutes and think about what what your biggest problem is and what you can do to improve the situation. Listen to our podcast and suggestions…and then write another 10,000 words this month.

***Author’s Note: This is an open forum, meaning your comments and questions are welcome, so feel free to share your writing experiences, tips, resources, and general queries and please feel free to share this post if you found if helpful.***
